Pergola Replacement Canopy & Shade Covers

Soft-top pergola canopies wear out long before the frame does - the fabric fades, tears at the grommets or stops shedding water. A replacement cover is a fraction of a new pergola, but only if you get the fit right. Getting fit wrong is why most returns happen.

Match the model, not just the size

Many replacement covers are cut for a specific frame - you will see codes like "L-PG152PST" or "compatible with Hampton Bay". If your pergola came from Home Depot, Lowe's or a named brand, search that model code first; a same-size generic cover often will not line up with the tie points and pockets. Only fall back to a universal size when no model-specific cover exists.

Measure before you buy

Measure the frame opening the fabric spans, not the footprint of the pergola - covers are quoted by the fabric dimensions (e.g. 200" x 103"). Check the corner attachment style too: sleeve-and-rod, ties or velcro all need to match your frame.

Waterproof vs shade-only

A shade cover blocks sun but lets rain through the weave; a waterproof cover sheds rain but can pool if the frame has no pitch. If you sit out in showers, get waterproof and make sure the frame is slightly pitched (or add a slanted-roof bracket). For dry-climate sun control, a breathable shade cover stays cooler.
